'The Mayflower' A hand painted sign, wall art of a stamp.

This ‘The Mayflower’ sign is an enlarged artistic interpretation of a historic postal stamp, the sign is both tactile and aesthetically attractive and makes a great piece of wall art.

The panel is 6mm maple plywood measuring 21 cm x 30 cm with the artwork and lettering painted using traditional signwriting techniques and products.

This is a great sign for those who appreciate traditional craftmanship and want to gift someone something more meaningful than a product of the quick print tin culture.

I painted this sign, using traditional signwriting techniques and products, skills which I learnt many years ago, then reluctantly discarded; a lost love I have recently rekindled.

Being hand painted this sign is unique, individual and its characteristics in the lettering and artwork reflect my own ability with a brush as no part of it was machine printed.

I use salvaged panel materials when appropriate to add aesthetically qualities to my signs and to also help the planet.
